Cocoon brand to be an official partner for project developing the first eco-friendly cloud seeding technology.
Arjowiggins Graphic, the leading manufacturer of recycled papers, has announced that Cocoon will be an official partner to the innovative HighDr’O cloud seeding project for one year starting from 15th November 2017.
The HighDr’O project is developing an eco-friendly cloud seeding solution, a technology which uses bacterial substances dispersed into the air to alter the microphysical processes within clouds to generate rain. Using a rocket, able to transport the cloud seeding bacterial substance up to 2000 metres high, the project hopes to combine biotechnologies with aeronautic skills to induce rain in dry areas, helping to fight malnutrition and starvation caused by water shortage. HighDr’O is the first cloud seeding technology to use 100% non-harmful ecological bacteria, avoiding any damage to the surrounding environment and ecosystems.
Cocoon is Arjowiggins Graphic’s innovative range of extra-white, 100% recycled, FSC® Recycled certified papers – engineered from high-quality office waste paper. The partnership is a perfect matching of values with both Cocoon and HighDr’O clearly reflecting values of innovation, technology and environmental awareness and responsibility.
Whilst still in the testing phase, several rockets have already been launched successfully. However, the bacteria is still under development with extensive laboratory testing needed. As an official partner, Cocoon will offer the financial support needed to continue testing and development, whilst launching a campaign to help generate awareness and visibility of the ground-breaking project in hopes of achieving more much needed sponsorship. In partnership with Antalis, the worldwide promotional campaign will launch on 15th November to over 30 countries including UK, France, Spain, Russia, South Africa and the Middle East. The campaign will be supported through a social medial campaign, as well as direct mailers and eshots sent out to graphic designers, corporates and printers.
Angela De Vorchik, Operational Marketing Manager, Arjowiggins Graphic UK, says:
“With a clear alignment of values, we’re delighted to be an official partner of HighDr’O and to have the opportunity to be a part of their incredible journey. The potential of HighDr’O is inspiring and we look forward to seeing the progress made throughout our partnership and beyond.”
Valentine Baron, Communication Manager, HighDr'O says:
“We are delighted to have the support of Cocoon in funding and raising awareness of this innovative and ground-breaking project. Additional testing is essential to see this project through and we’re looking forward to working with Arjowiggins Graphic to bring this exciting project to the next stage of development”.
The HighDr’O project has already been showcased at the Global Positive Forum in Paris, at which under the patronage of President Emmanuel Macron, the world’s change makers are acknowledged for their efforts to drive the positive revolution for the benefit of future generations.
The project is run by engineering students from IPSA and biotechnology students from Sup Bio’Tech in France and is in partnership with Centre National d’Etudes Spatialise (CNES), the French governments agency responsible for shaping and implementing France’s space policy.
