Why are Cocoon papers so much whiter than other 100% recycled papers?

One of the main reasons is our stringent selection of waste paper. The Greenfield de-inking mill focuses on recycling top quality waste paper ensuring the highest quality level of recycled pulp. Cocoon’s high whiteness is also the result of the advanced design of recycling and cleaning processes at Greenfield including 3 loops in its de-inking process.

Why is GREENFIELD mill so innovative?

In order to anticipate and satisfy the needs of paper users and consumers, Arjowiggins Graphic has put innovation at the heart of its development policy.

The Greenfield de-inking plant rigorously selects the waste paper it re-uses, focusing exclusively on very high-quality papers such as:

  • office paper
  • archival
  • papers with a low ink coverage

This ensures that the recycled pulp produced is of a very high quality and extremely white. The high whiteness is also the result of the innovative concepts involved in the recycling and bleaching processes used at Greenfield.

The recycled pulp undergoes 3 separate cleaning loops specially designed to effectively de-ink the paper without the use of chlorine, resulting in an extremely white paper produced using environmentally friendly processes.

How is the whiteness of Cocoon achieved?

The high quality and extra white shade of the Cocoon paper range is achieved by using the specialist deinked pulp produced at the innovative Greenfield Mill.

What are the advantages of a whiter paper?

Cocoon high whiteness enables accurate and consistent image reproduction only previously experienced with virgin fibre papers.

What is the level of whiteness of Cocoon paper?

  • Cocoon uncoated papers have a level of 150 CIE whiteness.
  • Cocoon coated papers have a level of 124 CIE whiteness.
