Cyclus supports pre-school education in Madagascar

Arjowiggins Graphic, the leading manufacturer of environmental paper solutions, today launches its 2015 Cyclus campaign.

Launching globally in 34 countries, including France, Australia, South Africa andthe UK, corporate end users, print managers, designers and printers will be able to request a free Cyclus 100% Recycled notebook to help fund the education of children in a less privileged part of the world.

With a dedicated website - www.cycluspaper.com web banners, eblasts and an innovative origami lemur mailer and video, customers are invited to reflect on their own days at pre-school and their first days of learning in an engaging and interactive way.

Angela De Vorchik, Marketing Manager at Arjowiggins Graphic UK said:

“For this year’s campaign we have taken inspiration from Nobel Peace Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai who said ‘we should learn everything and then choose which path to follow’. We wanted to provide these children with the opportunity to gain an education from the earliest age and forge their path in life as a result. Once we reach our target of 5,000 notepad requests, we will be able to set the 720 children in the 4 SOS Children’s Villages pre-schools of Madagascar on their journeys of learning. Following the success of last year’s campaign, we are delighted to continue this successful relationship with SOS Children’s Villages France as we launch our latest Cyclus campaign”.

Using Arjowiggins Graphic’s leading paper solutions and showcasing their innovative potential, the origami lemur mailer has been manufactured using a combination of CyclusPrint 250gsm and CyclusOffset 140gsm whilst the notepad uses CyclusPrint 350gsm for the cover pages and CyclusOffset 90gsm for the internal text pages. CyclusPrint is a 100% recycled matt-coated natural white printing paper for use in both full colour and black and white printing and ideal for a variety of uses whilst Cyclus Offset is a 100% recycled uncoated natural white paper that accentuates the creative message, where touch and feel combine with and support – the visual image.

Charline Bergeron, Head of Partnership  at SOS Children’s Villages France said,

“Following the success of last year’s Cyclus campaign, which contributed to the education of 500 children in Madagascar, we are pleased to continue our relationship with Arjowiggins Graphic. Education is vital to our work and the contribution Arjowiggins Graphic will make to the lives of these children is truly great.”

The campaign is being rolled out in the UK by Antalis a distributor of Cyclus.  Belinda Kelly, Marketing Manager Antalis UK comments:

“The Cyclus paper range enables us to deliver the shade and finish businesses need for their printed communications, such as high end marketing brochures and mailers, whilst also conveying the green credentials. When compared to the manufacture of non-recycled papers the manufacturing process reduces energy consumption, uses less water, diverts waste from landfill and the CO2 emissions are substantially lower. It is a paper with an environmental story that contributes to a business’s message – superb quality, a beautiful texture and a unique subtle shade . The Ultimate Recycled!”

Arjowiggins Graphic’s customers are also able to use the company’s online EcoCalculator to create a personal Environmental Benefit Statement (EBS). The EBS reveals the savings on landfill, greenhouse gases, water and energy used by choosing Cyclus 100% recycled papers for a specific project and is an excellent way to engage users with the benefits of choosing recycled papers.
